In NYC, a One Woman Free Vanunu Campaign
In June, Mary La Rosa took a Free Vanunu sign to the New York City Israel Day Parade, and days later to the United Nations. On June 5, with a small group of women, she went on a private tour of the U.N., wearing a Free Vanunu message taped onto her shirt. During the tour, a guard approached her and told her she was not allowed to protest a member country of the U.N., the country 'Vanunu' that was written on her shirt! As a result of her encounter, Mary has taken on the role of Official Ambassador of the Vanununian Mission to the U.N., stating that "the Emperor is still in exile but is soon to take up his rightful place."  |
